About Potabi

Potabi is a commercial open-source software (COSS) application built on top of FreeBSD. Designed by Fivnex, and is built primarily for enterprise users as well as personal phone users. Potabi's name comes from "Potential" and "Ability" which combine to provide power to the users. Potabi will always use the latest available version of FreeBSD. You can look at Potabi's sponsors below!

Potabi uses TCSH as the default user/system shell. Potabi uses the mobile desktops Lomiri, Hazel - custom-made for Potabi, Wiphoc - a Windows Phone UI/UX clone designed for Potabi, and Terkey - a shell terminal for phones (with the only GUI being a keyboard). For desktop users of Potabi, users have the choice of the Lumina, GNOME40, Cherry - a GNOME3 continuation built by Fivnex, KDE Plasma, and Openbox. Potabi's default browser is currently undecided, with the default search engine being Ecosia - a privacy focused search engine that plants trees. Potabi Mobile for personal use will come with built-in APK support (through Anbox), as well as F-Droid.
